Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I wanted a log of my time at K-State, so I started a blog for it. I didn't want to muddy up my family blog with my blatherings about school in the midst of cute picture of my girls.

A little about me, for the two or three people who happen across this during late night reading. I am a 36 year old who married her highschool sweetheart, is mother of two and former accountant. I gave up accounting five years ago when my oldest was six months old because the stress and the time commitment of the job was more than I cared to deal with as a new mom and the wife of a fourth year medical student.

I began to think about pursuing a PhD in college, when an economics professor said I had potential. I love economics because all the graphs make sense to me. Yes, I love math.
I decided to working at first after to college. I have an MBA that I got while I was working but the idea of a PhD stayed in the back of my mind. When I stopped working I began to work on the prerequisites I needed to apply for a PhD. We moved and I continued to work on them. Then I had my second child and concentrated on her.

I finally began the steps to apply a few years ago. I studied for and took the GRE. I applied to a school and waited. I found out I was accepted the same week we found out we could not be able to move for another year due to my husband's job. But I deferred and waited and now, I am starting! My first class is tomorrow. A little nervous and being the old timer in a college classroom. Wish me luck!
